Jack Roy Crawford

Jack Roy Crawford, age 84 passed away Friday May 5, 2017 at his residence in Utica.
Jack was born December 25, 1932 and was a lifelong resident of his home place in the Reganton Community in Claiborne County, Utica. He attended Midway School and Utica High School. Jack served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; Albert Benjamin Crawford,Sr. and his mother Carrie Hackler Crawford, a brother Albert Benjamin Crawford.Jr., and a sister Lillian Crawford Allen. Jack loved the outdoors and supported his family through a successful logging business and raising cattle on his beloved land. He began Crawford Logging at an early age and continued to work in the woods until the day of his death. He was a great mentor to many. Jack was dearly loved by a host of friends that he treated as family. He always had a beloved dog at his side.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Billie Jo Mathews Crawford of Utica, his children Jacqueline Crawford Cannada (Russell) of Edwards,Ms, and a son Ronald Joe Crawford of Utica,Ms. Grandchildren; Scott Crawford Cannada, Stephanie Jo Cannada, Ronald Joe Crawford,Jr., and Matthew Crawford. Great Grandchildren; Haley and Hayden Cannada.
A private Family graveside will be Monday May 8, 2017 at Crawford Family Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 10:30a.m. Monday at Utica Baptist Church with Rev. Rocky Henriques officiating. Visitation will follow from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. after the service.
Pallbearers will be Scott Cannada, Benji Crawford, Ron Crawford, Clark Denley, Scott Denley, and Mott Roland Headley. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Cochran, Jimmy Flowers Jackie Ross.
Memorials may be made to Utica Baptist Church.
